Operation Warm Heart was developed by the Elizabeth Coalition to house the homeless through the cold months of winter. 14-20 individuals are housed in various houses of worship throughout Union County from December to March. The First Presbyterian Church of Cranford chapter provides various goods and services to these individuals, including a place to rest for the night. Here’s what’s needed: Gently used or new clothing (specifically heavy winter jackets, gloves, hats, scarves) and shoes (especially men’s working boots); packaged milk, sugar packets (not loose sugar), instant coffee, and tea; canned sodas and juices (for long-term shelf storage); sewing supplies (thread, buttons, etc.) laundry pods; pasta and vegetarian tomato sauce; disposable eating utensils (spoons, forks, knives, plates, bowls, napkins, hot cups, and cold cups) (unopened packages only, please!)
