Narrative Lectionary

Narrative
Lectionary

Our lessons, hymns, prayers and the Pastor’s sermons are all based on the Narrative Lectionary.  A Lectionary is a series of readings meant to guide the church through the church year.  In September of 2014, we switched from the well-known Revised Common Lectionary to the rather new Narrative Lectionary created by Luther Seminary.

The Narrative Lectionary is a four-year cycle of readings. From September through May each year the texts follow the sweep of the biblical story, chronologically from Creation through the early Christian church.  We hear from many different voices in the scriptures – enriching our journey of faith.

Below you will find a list of lessons for the current church year.

You can also do your own Bible study during the week by reading the bible stories that come between each week’s lesson, a list of which is also below.
